The believer knows – “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 NKJV – and that’s what we believe.

Prayer changes things; it is effective and realized in many different ways. We pray with Adoration to God the self-existent one, who created all things - we pray with Confession to God for forgiveness of our sins in the name of Jesus - we pray with Thanksgivingto God for his many blessings (if you think you’re not blessed consider the air you breathe right now), and then we go to God with Supplication - praying earnestly and humbly, asking for something; always in the name of Jesus, our Lord.

The Bible, read it! And learn about the great prayers of God’s chosen messengers: Abraham’s prayer for Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 18: 23-33), to Jacob wrestling with the angel at Peniel (Genesis 32: 22-31), and how in prayer Moses held God to promises made to the children of Israel; and let us not forget the way Aaron, Samuel, Solomon, and Hezekiah interceded for the people of Israel. God even spoke to Solomon regarding Israel’s obedience and prayers (2 Chronicles 7:14).

King David was a man of prayer, a man after God’s own heart; in Psalm 51 we read his prayer of repentance, and the prophets of old were all men who prayed. Consider Daniel – The Book of Daniel – He prayed three times a day; effectively!

Jesus set an example for the importance of prayer in his time here on earth. (John 17; Matthew 6: 5-15, Luke 18:1-8)

The early church is characterized by prayer (Acts 2: 42), and it is in Paul’s writings that the theology of prayer is fully developed. The apostle Paul was a praying man.

The Christian’s prayer is rooted in the intercession of Christ and in the enabling of the Spirit of God. (Hebrews 13:15; 1Peter 2:5)

There are various elements in prayer and the believer knows that prayer changes things.

The Lord’s Prayer:

Our Father in heaven,

May your name be kept holy,

May your Kingdom come soon.

May your will be done on earth,

as it is in heaven.

Give us today the food we need,*

and forgive us our sins,

as we have forgiven those who sin against us.

And don’t let us yield to temptation,*

but rescue us from the evil one.* Matthew 6: 9-13 NLT

As for me:

To know and accept Jesus as your personal Savior is to be assured of eternal life.  MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

As in Adam (the first man) all will die one day, but the mortal soul, which is the spirit, returns to God who gave it to live on forever.  The question is, “Where, heaven or hell?”  There is no middle ground; where will you spend eternity?

For the LORD God is a jealous God. And He has said, “Thou shall have no other god before me.”

America: Founded on the principles of the Ten Commandments given to Moses on Mount Sinai. In the very first and second of these commands, God makes it clear when he says, “You must not have any other god before me.” And, “You must not make for yourself an idol.” (Exodus 20:3, 4) NLT

What made America great? It was the love of God and country, and the vision of our founding fathers. In spite of its inner turmoil and conflict the U.S.A. is a beacon to those who seek freedom and a better way of life. God has blessed America and it is truly a country that has received His love (the Love of God is every where).

But something has happened. No Ten Commandments in our governmental establishments? God is taken out of our Pledge of Allegiance, and the Lord’s Prayer taken out of our public schools. Even our Chaplain is forbidden to invoke the name of God through Jesus Christ in military prayers. Why? For fear of being offensive to religious sects who will do anything and pay any price to be a part of the Great Melting Pot that is America.

Yet we wonder why our beloved country is in a deep recession and our people out of work. Why jobs are being out-sourced to other countries and businesses here going “belly up!” Why the fat cats keep taking and not really giving, with few exceptions. “Looking out for No.1”, I think that’s what they call it. But earthly treasures you can’t take with you.

I think our Creator is not pleased with the ways of the world; especially with us here in America, a land that He has blessed so bountifully with riches even beyond our wildest imagination. I believe God is not pleased with the paths some leaders of our country have chosen to take us down. And it appears that we have turned away from Him.

So come on, “How about it neighbor,” let’s go back to God. He still loves us in spite of our secular proclivities and sinful nature, and is willing to forgive if we repent. It’s not too late; not while we are still living. Christ died for our sins, but rose again. So there is hope even for the lost.

And finally, for me, political correctness means loving, respecting and praying for my fellowman; Christian or otherwise. I believe in being biblically correct as the Bible states it. These are the principles we should be bound by. It seems liberalism, in some cases not all, has led a lot of people into a cesspool of lustful immorality. America needs to reinstitute moral standards of decency and get its act together for the sake of our children, and for generations to come. Our holy God requires it.
